I just read yesterday where the Curve just past the IPhone as the most popular selling smartphone. I would tell you if that is the case, popularity would tell me it is a great phone. Plus, with its full QWERTY keyboard, it will be hard for you to not like it.

As long as your contract is up you should be able to move your number and cancel your phone without issue. The contract is the only thing that keeps you from not doing this today.

To get e-mail and internet on your phone, you will actually have to have a data plan with Verizon Wireless for your mobile phone and will not be able to use your internet from your house. The data plan is $30/month plus what ever calling plan you decide to have. Your e-mail address will still work with this phone and can be synched so that you receive e-mails on both your home computer and your phone.

To find out if you are available for an upgrade or not, you will have to call your carrier, and they will have to tell you. We are not privy to your account information and are only able to submit / sign-up applicants to accounts. There should be a toll free number for your carrier's customer service line either on their website or an old bill. That should be the number to call into to see if you are eligible for an account upgrade. As far as the cost for an Blackberry Curve 8330 as an upgrade phone, for our default area code the price today is $249.99. It doesn't appear as if Verizon is carrying their promotion on renewals like they are for new customers. Sometimes phone costs will change from area code to area code. Also, on the first page after clicking "renew / upgrade" your plan, it may say that you have to pay $9.99 for shipping. All shipping is free right now and that charge will go away as you proceed to the pre-order confirmation page. If you want the BlackBerry Curve and you want it cheaper, you may consider switching to a new carrier and take advantage of the new carrier discounts they have right now.
