why does this phone not have a front window? are there any similar that do

We really can't answer why a cell phone manufacturer does or does not put a feature on a phone. As far as similar phones that do, it depends on if you want to stay with the Sony Ericsson brand or AT&T as the carrier. What I would recommend for you to do is go to the lowcostcells.com homepage and use the column to the left on the screen. In the column either scroll down and click on "Sony Ericsson" under "shop by brand" or go up and click on "AT&T" under "carrier and types." Under either of these selections, you will find a great selection of all types of phones and plans that will fit your liking.
