Question: My ATT contract expired 2 weeks ago. Do I need to cancel my contract so I can purchase the family plan with ATT? or upgrade? Please advise. I'm trying to get the best deal if possible.

Answer: You will simply just want to upgrade. I definitely would not cancel your current phone service. This should allow you uninterrupted service until you receive your phone. The best deals are always for new customers so if you find that your upgrade offer is not what you would like it to be, you may check the service of the other carriers. Your number is fully transportable and can be selected to do so during the checkout process (look for a little green box in the final three check out screens).

Question: We currently have 2 phones. I would want a new blackberry curve 8310 and keep the other phone. How do we keep our existing phone numbers? Are there any additional charges to the 2100 minute 2 phone plan ie e-mail, texting, navigation etc for the blackberry?

Answer: Do you know if your cell phone contract has expired and you are eligible to renew / upgrade your existing plan? Only eligible plans can be upgraded with a new cell phone. The only one that can tell you if you are eligible for an upgrade is your cell phone plan carrier. We are not privy to that information as there is personal information involved. We can simply only enter sign-up and upgrade information for customers. You should be able to find your carrier's customer service number on your latest monthly bill. If you are available for an upgrade, you should have no problem doing this through lowcostcells.com. Search our site for the phone that suits you best. When you find that phone, make sure you are in the "phone details" screen where it shows that phone only with all of its technical specs. Once there, simply click next to the phone picture where it says "Buy with a phone upgrade". This will take you to a new window where you will see your upgrade phone price. The following screens will help you to complete your selection.

As far as number transportability, no problem. As you work your way through our checkout process, since this is a renewal / upgrade, you will be asked to enter your phone number. If you do not, the site will not allow you to move to the next page.

As far as extra monthly charges, when you have a BlackBerry Curve you are required to purchase a $30/month e-mail & internet plan. Also, there is an activation charge that will show up on your first bill only for your new phone.

Question: ok so what if i curently have sprint service, if i were to get this would i have to pay the $350 for the phone or do i still get this "free" offer?

Answer: Do you know if your cell phone contract has expired and you are eligible to renew / upgrade your existing plan? Only eligible plans can be upgraded with a new cell phone. The only one that can tell you if you are eligible for an upgrade is your cell phone plan carrier. We are not privy to that information as there is personal information involved. We can simply only enter sign-up and upgrade information for customers. You should be able to find your carrier's customer service number on your latest monthly bill. If you are available for an upgrade, you should have no problem doing this through lowcostcells.com.

If you are not eligible for an upgrade, your cost to buy the phone outright is $419.99. Since you are with Sprint you would actually need to be looking at the BlackBerry Curve 8830. They are basically the same phones, only the 8830 is for Sprint service while the 8310 is for AT&T service.

Question: I am looking for a phone that is compatable with microsoft outlook so that I can continue to keep a calendar on my computer and syncnonize with the phone. Ideally it would be a flip type phone. Which of your phones match this discription.

Answer: If you are a T-Mobile fan, I would recommend the new BlackBerry Pearl 8220 Flip phone! It is brand new to the market and is suppose to be BlackBerry's smartest yet smallest phone to date! Now for all other types of phones, a good share of them support a pop3 mail system. If you have that system feeding into your current outlook e-mail program, integration to your phone shouldn't be a problem. Now if you don't necessarily care to actually get your e-mail on your phone and just want to simply synch your calender, look for phones that have PC Synchronization capabilities. I would probably recommend that you look towards an LG phone for this. They have done some neat things with their phones as of late. Many of their phones will be touch screen with a sliding keyboard, which is similar to the way a flip phone works in theory.

Question: Is this cell phone really free? What if my mom already has a plan, can I just transfer that plan over to the phone or do I have to pay the regular monthly price?

Answer: Yes the Blackberry Curve 3810 is really free, but must be purchased either with a new plan activation or with a cell phone plan upgrade. In your case, you can't just transfer the Blackberry Curve to your mom's existing cell phone plan. You have to either sign up for a new plan and pay the regular monthly price or that existing cell phone plan must be eligible for upgrading or contract extension to extend the contract and get this cell phone.
