Question: My father has a contract with Alltel and we r on a family plan and I wanted to know if we both could get a Blackberry Pearl 8130 and could I use my student advantage card to get a discount and what is the cheapest plan to get..Please help me I really do need a new phone I'm a college student and I have to communicate with my family...

Answer: Do you know if your cell phone contract has expired with Alltel and you are now eligible for an upgrade? If so, there should be no reason that you couldn't upgrade to the BlackBerry Pearl. The only one that can tell you if you are eligible for an upgrade is your cell phone plan carrier. We are not privy to that information as there is personal information involved. We can simply only enter sign-up and upgrade information for customers. You should be able to find your carrier's customer service number on your latest monthly bill. If you are available for an upgrade, we would love to help you with that!

I can honestly tell you that I am not sure what a student advantages card is. Does it apply to the plan or to the phone? If it applies to the phone, you will not be able to use it. If it applies to the plan and Alltel accepts student advantage cards for cheaper plan rates, I can not foresee why you would not be able to use this then at that point.

As far as the plan goes, please click on the following link to take you to a plan list for Alltel family plans:

Question: What's the catch?

Answer: Great News! There is no catch! Since we are an on-line only entity we are able to hold our costs (overhead) down so we can offer phones at lower prices than regular brick and mortar stores. How we put that phone at free is due to how we take our commissions from the sale and net the cost of the phone out.
